| Both of my grandfathers are dead. One died earlier this year and the other died two years ago. Both of them served in WWII. My mom's dad was in the Army and stationed in Alaska in case of a Japenese invision which, by the way, happened. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_the_Aleutian_Islands My dad's dad went to Europe when he was around 19. He was in the 409th Infantry Regiment, 103rd Infantry Division. He was in Europe for less than a month before being hit. He was hit with shrapnel from an exploding shell and was practically dead. He was in hospitals for years after the war to recover. I never told them "thank you" while they were alive. I want to remember them always but especially today on Veteran's Day. Thank you both for your sacrifices. For your willingness to leave your wives and families. For putting yourselves in harms way. Thank you. |

| i'm vowing to start updating weekly. this is my solemn pledge that i might break. we had so many guys go down hurt on the soccer team that we cancelled the rest of our games. there wasn't anything we could do about it. the list kinda dragged on and on. - my face
- torn ACL and fractured leg
- torn ACL and torn miniscus
- hamstring tear
- broken foot
- severe shin splints
- severely rolled ankle
- one guy with a new job where he has to work on sunday
so when you carry 16 into the season and 8 guys go down, it is hard to play with 8 people the rest of the year. things start back up in january i guess. greco/combs wedding was delightful. nice place and a good time was had by all. good to see a lot of you cats. work and life are kinda' crazy busy. but that makes each week interesting. give me a shout and let me know what you're up to. |
